If You Have: Persistent acne
Try : Ortho Tri-Cyclen
Why: All women produce some level of testosterone, which can increase oil production and increase breakouts. Ortho Tri-Cyclen contains the skin-friendly hormone norgestimate, which helps minimize the body's testosterone levels and reduce acne .
If You Have: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) which is basically the emotional symptoms that occurs 5-11 days before the monthly menstrual cycle.
Try: Yaz or Yasmin
Why: Both contain drospirenone, a hormone that minimizes water retention and bloating. Additionally, a study found that taking Yaz helps reduce severe pre-period mood swings.
